To celebrate our Bar Mitzvah year, we held a special anniversary weekend celebration September 28-30, 2007 to honour this milestone in the life of our congregation. We were privileged to have many attend this unique event in our community.
The theme of the weekend was From the Roots Up! We are a congregation whose vision and purpose is best defined by Romans 11:16, “and if the root is holy, so are the branches.” God is grafting Jewish and Non-Jewish branches into His Olive Tree so that we will be holy from the roots up.
This weekend was observed during the seven days of the Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles) and is one of God’s appointed times. Sukkot is called the Feast of Ingathering, the Feast of all Nations and is one of three annual feasts we are commanded to come together as God’s people to celebrate, according to Leviticus 23.
Over the years, we have had the joy of witnessing many people come through our doors and be blessed by experiencing the sense of Mishpachah (family), the vibrant Messianic worship and dance. Many have carried away a deeper appreciation for Israel, God’s appointed times, the beauty of the Sabbath and the Jewish roots of their faith.
We were pleased to have you to celebrate this special weekend with us. Please visit us again and learn why our Congregation is different from all others and discover from the roots up how vibrant your faith really is!
Beth Shechinah endevours to nurture and support a healthy community by encouraging its members and everyone who is interested in learning about, and returning to, the root of our faith.
