Depart Toronto for Israel. Overnight En Route
Upon arrival, meet your guide and driver and transfer up to Jerusalem the Holy City. Upon entering Jerusalem, honor your Jewish heritage by reciting the "Shehechayanu" blessing from Mt. Scopus. Check in at hotel and after dressing for Shabbat, visit on your own the Western Wall and participate in Kabbalat Shabbat service at the Southern Wall.
Overnight in Jerusalem
You'll have a chance to enjoy a full day at rest to enjoy the Sabbath. Or participate in a walking tour of Jerusalem's Old City; Walk through the Jewish quarter visiting the various synagogues, including the unique 16th century Italian Synagogue and the 4 shepardic synagogues. Walk through the Armenian quarter to Zion Gate. Climb the 16th century walls of the city and walk along the walls to Jaffa Gate fulfilling the scripture "On your walls O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen". End the walk with a visit to the Tower of David Museum to learn about the 3,000 year old History of Jerusalem through audio visual presentations.
Overnight in Jerusalem
We will go up to Mount of Olives and visit The Church of all Nations, as well as the Garden of Gethsemane. Spend time of Prayer and reflection at this special place. Enter Jerusalem's Old City via the Zion Gate. Pray at the Western Wall. Visit the Rabbi's Tunnel and the Chain of Generations. Continue through the restored Jewish Quarter, passing the excavated Roman Cardo. Visit the Herodian Mansions and Burnt House. Continue for a visit at the Temple Institute and marvel at the reconstructed instruments that were used in the 2nd Temple.
Overnight in Jerusalem
Begin your day descending through the Judean Wilderness and stopping for a Biblical Experience at Genesis Land. Enjoy a Biblical Hospitality Meeting "Father Abraham" and enjoy a Camel ride. Visit Kaser El Yehud. Carry on along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada. Ascend by cable car to view the excavations of the Herodian palace, storerooms, bathhouse and waterworks. Enjoy the unique sensation of a "float" in the unsinkable Dead Sea. On the way back to Jerusalem, pass the caves of Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Arrive in Jerusalem for the start of the Memorial Day Ceremonies.
Overnight in Jerusalem
Visit Yad Vashem, Israel's memorial to the Holocaust, for a Yizkor service and visit to the Children's Pavilion and the Valley of Destroyed Communities. On to Mount Herzel, Israel's military cemetery, to pay respects at the tombs of the Fallen Soldiers. Visit the Menorah, symbol of Israel located next to the Knesset. Stroll through the magnificent Billy Rose Sculpture Garden. In the afternoon drive through the Ayalon Valley to Latrun, and visit the famous Independence War staging area; tour its Armour Corps Museum. Visit the tranquil Latrun Monastery, overlooking the Valley of Ayalon. At the monastery the monks maintain a vow of silence. They produce wine from their own vineyards. The Latrun Monastery is located on a rise with a fabulous view of the Ayalon Valley where God made the moon stand still (Josh. 10:12). The monks keep a vow of silence, except for those who sell wine and olive oil to visitors. Tonight we will join in the celebrations of the 61st independence of Israel.
Overnight in Jerusalem
Visit the Israel Museum to view the Shrine of the Book, housing the Dead Sea Scrolls. Also see the Scale Model of Jerusalem in its new location and see the replica of Jerusalem during the 2nd Temple period. Return to the Old City of Jerusalem to explore the old city alleys and markets. Walk along the Way of the Cross and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. End the day at the Garden Tomb where we will partake of the Bread and Wine. The afternoon is free for Independence day celebrations and shopping.
Dinner and Overnight in Jerusalem
Depart Jerusalem and drive along the Jordan Valley to Bet She'an and tour the extensive, ongoing archeological excavations, a Roman Decapolis city built on ancient remains which figured prominently during the reign of King Saul. Continue to Bet Alpha. See an exquisite Zodiac mosaic floor in an ancient synagogue set in a pomegranate orchard. Drive to Megiddo, the ancient sight where excavations unearthed 25 layers of civilization - the inspiration for Michener's "The Source". Time permitting visit Mt. Carmel. Evening in song with Daniel and a meeting with a Messianic Leader from Israel.
Overnight in Tiberias
Ascend the Golan Heights, the biblical Bashan and ancestral home of the half-tribe of Manasseh and in Yeshua' day, part of the territory of Herod Philip. Continue to Katsrin and visit its ancient Talmudic Village to understand aspects of daily life at the time of Yeshua as they are reflected in Gospel stories. Explore the Golan on a Seep tour. Stop at an old Syrian bunker and understand the Geopolitical importance of the Golan to Israel. Continue to Kibbutz EI-Rom to attend the audio-visual presentation that tells the story of the battle at the nearby "Vale of Tears" where a few Israeli tanks fended off waves of Syrian forces during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
Overnight in Tiberias
Enjoy a free day in the Galilee. Drive to Yardenit, the Baptismal site. For those wanting to be baptized in the Jordan River. Visit Tel Dan, one of the most important biblical mounds in the country. Here archaeologists discovered an inscription with the words "House of David". Have lunch at Dag Al HaDan. Enjoy fun-filled river rafting on the "mighty Jordan.
Overnight in Tiberias
Enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee with praise and worship. On to Kibbutz Ginosar to see the Museum that houses the "Yeshua Boat", a boat dates back to the times of Yeshua and the Disciples. On to Safed, home to the Kabbala. This charming town, filled with cobblestone streets, lined with ancient synagogues and artist galleries, offers breathtaking views of the entire Galilee. Visit the candle factory. Back to Tiberias via Rosh Pina with time for shopping.
Overnight in Tiberias
Depart Tiberias traveling northwest to the shores of the Mediterranean. Visit Rosh HaNikra for a cable car ride to the beautiful grottos. Continue to the Bethlehem of Galilee to visit the unique Spice Farm where you can find all the natural products of the land. Proceed to Haifa to appreciate the spectacular view of the coastline and the magnificent terraced gardens of the Bahai Center. Ascend Mount Carmel to see the druze villages and markets. Drive along the coast to Caesarea. End the day in Tel Aviv.
Overnight in Tel Aviv
Day at leisure. Today is yours to explore, shop, stroll along the seafront promenade or swim in the Mediterranean Sea! Or do some sightseeing on your own. Possiblities include Old City of Jaffa, where Jonah began his adventure with the "great fish", Nahalat Binyamin Promenade and artists fair, Carmel Market, Independence war museum, Museum of the Diaspora and more. Farewell Dinner. Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your flight home.
