The key to a healthy community is healthy relationships. Our L’chaim (Life) Groups are a way to connect with one another in a more personal setting where we can build healthy, supportive and caring relationships. The twofold biblical model for building community found in the Book of Acts included the early believers gathering together for Shabbat, during God’s appointed times, as well as in smaller groups.
“The early believers, continued daily with one accord in the temple and broke bread from house to house, eating their food with gladness and simplicity of heart. Praising God and having favour with all the people … And they continued steadfastly in the apostle’s teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayer. Now all who believed were together and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods and divided them among all as anyone had need. And the Lord added to the congregation daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46, 47
What a wonderful expression of community! As a mishpachah we meet together every Shabbat, and we also meet weekly in homes, reading and studying the word, praying, ministering, and caring for the needs of one another. We also encourage meeting together for Erev Shabbat suppers to break bread (challah) together as an expression of our Messianic identity and to experience the presence of Adonai. We encourage you to consider joining one of our L’Chaim Groups!
