Passover is the oldest Festival celebrated in the world today and commemorates God’s deliverance of the Jewish people from Egyptian bondage 3,500 years ago. Passover, a seven day feast, begins on the 14th of Nisan which corresponds to April 22nd this year.
It is one of the most significant of the seven Biblical Feasts and is recognized as the beginning of months. Passover is the first of God’s appointed times and represents ancient Israel’s birth as a nation, and is the anniversary of freedom from Egyptian bondage after 400 years of slavery.
Ex. 12:1 – “This month shall be your beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.”
Tradition teaches that in each generation, we must consider ourselves as having personally been freed from Egypt. Join us for the evening and be reminded of the anniversary of your freedom as a child of God!
