Raising Funds for Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem

Join us in raising funds to bring one of ocular medicine’s newest breakthroughs, the Retinal Imager, to
Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. This new technology would expand the capabilities of
the hospital’s Ophthalmology Department.

What is it?
A Retinal Imager uses Ocular Cohert Tomography (OCT) to develop an image of the retina.

Why is it important?
The machine allows physicians to view blood vessels within the eye, allowing for early diagnosis of
diseases like age-related macular degeneration. Importantly, it also allows for the evaluation of drugs
and treatments of retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and preeclampsia during pregnancy.
Retinal Imagers provide a more comprehensive view of retinal health than older technologies like the
ophthalmoscope.

How much does it cost?
The price for one retinal imager is $333,000 CDN.

How can I help?
Together we can bring this technology to Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
